Job Duties:
- Knowledge and ability to design curriculum to meet established competencies regarding OSPI approved Agricultural Science Curriculum Frameworks.
- Participate as a departmental team in the curriculum development process with an emphasis on CASE (Curriculum for Agricultural Science Education) curriculum along with incorporating new and emerging technology into the instructional process.
- Provide active leadership and direction for the Agricultural Science Advisory Committee and the development of the Agricultural Science three-year plan
- Provide active leadership, guidance, supervision, and Advisor teamwork in the FFA Program.
- Center instruction on high expectations for student achievement.
- Demonstrate effective teaching practices.
- Recognize individual student learning needs and develop strategies to address those needs.
- Provide clear and intentional focus on subject matter content and curriculum.
- Foster and manage a safe, positive learning environment.
- Use multiple student data elements to modify instruction and improve student learning.
- Communicate and collaborate with parents and the school community.
- Exhibit collaborative and collegial practices focused on improving instructional practice and student learning.
- Assist in establishing and maintain articulation agreement(s) between WVC Tech Prep and the Eastmont Agricultural Science Department.
- Extracurricular coaching/activities assignment outside of CTE will not be supported due to additional days and CTE FFA extracurricular work that is required.
Job Requirements:
- Possess or qualify for immediate issuance of a valid Washington State teaching certificate with appropriate endorsement(s):

- Career & Technical Education Certificate in Agriculture and Natural Resources.
- Valid Washington State Certificate with K-12 or 4-12 Science endorsement or Standard K-12 Certification required with Science Major or 45 credits in Science content area required.
- Commitment to the education profession as evidenced by participation in curriculum development projects, District or building-level committees, professional organizations, and by evidence of continuing education.
- Previous teaching experience in Agriculture Education preferred.
- CASE (Curriculum for Agricultural Science Education) Certified and/or willingness to obtain CASE certification.
- Ability to work effectively with peers in a professional learning community (PLC)
- Ability and willingness to work with both middle and high school age students is essential.
- Willingness and flexibility to teach courses as assigned within the Agriculture Science umbrella of offerings.
Physical Requirements:
The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical demands:
- Ability to regularly walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, push, pull.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
