Duties & Requirements:
- Arrange for all EHS staff substitutes (certificated and classified); ensure coverage is in place.
- Prepare monthly absene reports/payroll timesheet verification.
- Back-up for Reception (staff and visitor sign-in/out process; switchboard operator; announcements via the intercom; emergency radio responder).
- Back-up for Health Services (provide basic first aid, dispense medications, contract the district nurse and parents as directed (requires a 2 hour in-service in August with District Nurses).
- Provide translation for Spanish-speaking guests; occasionally called upon by administration to assist translation of parent/student meetings regarding school discipline and other school related issues.
- Back-up for Bookkeeping (use of InTouch and Destiny software for receipting in money and returning textbooks).
- Proficient in use of Word, Excel and Publisher. Ability to use Google (e-mail, Google Drive, Google Docs). Use of other software programs as needed (HD Baker and Destiny).
- Responsible for building key inventory.
- Use student database (SchoolMaster) as needed.
- General clerical skills including filing.
- Willing to cross-train for office coverage.
- Must be a problem solver, team player and willing to take on duties as assigned.
- Display a level of confidence and authority and professional behavior at all times.
- Ability to work in both an office and classroom environment providing support to staff, parents and students
- Experience with secondary age students preferred
- Must possess flexibility in assignment, changing gears at a moment’s notice.
- Ability to handle conflict.
- Proven ability to work effectively as a team member
- Excellent attendance and punctuality.
Physical Requirements:
The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical demands:
- Ability to regularly walk, sit, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, push, pull.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Mandatory Conditions of Employment
- High School diploma, or equivalent, and
- Have one of the following:
- An AA Degree from an accredited academic college or university
- A minimum of 72 college quarter credits
- Have passed a district-recognized assessment of basic skills and instructional proficiency (currently the ETS test)
- Training in use of behavior management preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively as a team.
- Previous successful work with children with behavioral challenges preferred
- Successful clearance of the FBI and Washington State Patrol fingerprint background check
- Successful Washington State Sexual Misconduct clearance
- Completion of federal I-9 form
