Duties:
- Answer incoming phone calls for attendance office
- Process attendance on a daily basis
- Record excused/tardy students; follow up on unexcused absences/tardies
- Send attendance letters home when necessary
- Track and file truancy and violations.
- Run attendance reports as requested by principal and teachers
- Assist with student mailings and process student emergency/health in-take forms
- Provide support to Counseling Office with parent/teacher conferences as needed
- Provide support and assistance as needed to staff in the completion of their work activities
- Other duties as assigned.
Professional Qualifications:
- Bilingual Required
- High School Graduate or equivalent
- Three (3) to five (5) years in a secretarial/administrative support position preferred, preferably in a K-12 environment.
- Bilingual preferred.
- Proven ability to work independently; effectively performs as a self-starter, using independent decision making appropriately. Understands the importance of confidentiality in working with staff, students and parents.
- Demonstrated ability to relate to and work effectively with students, staff, parents, community, officials, and other school districts on a regular basis.
- Demonstrated skills in appropriate software applications (i.e. MS Word, MS Excel, MS Publisher, MS PowerPoint, Schoolmaster), and ability to learn new software/hardware as needed.
- Outstanding written, verbal and customer service skills (both over the phone and in person).
- Thorough knowledge of business English, spelling and math.
- Ability to work independently in the absence of specific instruction.
- Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of individuals.
- Ability to handle frequent interruptions while carrying out assignment in a pleasant and professional manner.
- Ability to perform duties in an efficient and organized manner.
- Ability to adapt to a variety of situations and to remain calm under stress.
- Portrays positive attitude, initiative and responsibility to the staff.
- Understands and carries out oral and written directions efficiently and effectively.
- Supports and implements Eastmont School District policies, regulations, procedures and administrative directives.

Physical Requirements:
The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical demands:
- Minimal lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling
- Ability to lift 30 lbs.
- Minimal stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling
- Significant fine finger dexterity
- Generally this job requires 50% sitting, 30% walking, and 20% standing
